About this tool

One page for every kind of timing

This is three timing tools in one: a countdown Timer for cooking, workouts and reminders; a Stopwatch with laps for runs, chores and speed-runs; and a Pomodoro timer that cycles focus and break sessions for deep work. Each keeps time from a fixed target timestamp rather than counting ticks, so it stays accurate to the second even if your tab is in the background or your laptop briefly sleeps — a common failing of naive browser timers.

When time is up, a built-in Web Audio alarm rings (no audio file to load) and, if you allow it, a desktop notification appears. Nothing installs, nothing uploads, and there are no accounts — open the page and start timing.

How to use it
  1. 1Pick Timer, Stopwatch or Pomodoro from the tabs.
  2. 2For the Timer, type hours/minutes/seconds or tap a preset, then Start.
  3. 3For the Stopwatch, hit Start and tap Lap to record splits — fastest and slowest are highlighted.
  4. 4For Pomodoro, start a Focus session; it automatically moves to short breaks, with a long break every fourth round.

Frequently asked questions

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. It calculates the remaining time from a fixed end timestamp, so when you return to the tab the display is correct even if the browser throttled the page while it was in the background. Very long sleeps where the OS fully suspends the process are the only edge case.
Will the alarm sound if the tab is in the background?
In most browsers, yes — the Web Audio alarm fires when the countdown reaches zero. Turn on the 'Notify when done' switch for a desktop alert too, which is the most reliable way to be notified while looking at another window.
What is the Pomodoro technique?
A time-management method: work in focused 25-minute blocks separated by 5-minute breaks, with a longer 15-minute break after four blocks. It reduces burnout and makes big tasks feel manageable. This tool automates the cycle and counts your completed sessions.
How accurate is the stopwatch?
It measures elapsed time from a start timestamp and displays centiseconds (hundredths of a second). It's more than accurate enough for workouts, cooking, games and everyday timing, though it isn't a certified instrument for official sports records.
Do I need to install anything or sign up?
No. It's a single web page that runs entirely in your browser — no app, no account, no data collected. Bookmark it and it's ready whenever you need a timer.
