About this converter

Know what your time is actually worth

Job offers, freelance quotes and budgeting all speak different pay languages — one is annual, another hourly, your rent is monthly. This converter translates any pay figure into every common period at once: hourly, daily, weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and annual, based on your real working hours and paid weeks per year.

The take-home estimator applies a single deductions percentage you control — covering tax, retirement contributions and insurance — so you can sanity-check what actually lands in your account. Because tax systems vary enormously by country and personal situation, an adjustable percentage is more honest than a fake-precise tax table; check your latest payslip for your true deduction rate and set the slider to match.

Frequently asked questions

How do you convert an annual salary to an hourly rate?
Divide the salary by your working hours per year (hours per week × paid weeks). At 40 hours and 52 weeks that is 2,080 hours — so $65,000 a year is about $31.25 an hour.
What is the quick rule of thumb?
For a standard 40-hour year, hourly ≈ annual ÷ 2,000 — so $30/hour ≈ $60,000/year. It slightly overstates the hourly rate because the true divisor is 2,080, but it is excellent for mental math.
Why a deductions percentage instead of a real tax calculation?
Income tax depends on country, state, filing status, retirement contributions and benefits — a one-size table would be wrong for most people. Your payslip already tells you your true total deduction rate; entering that one number gives a more accurate answer than any generic tax engine.
How do freelancers use this?
Work backwards: enter the annual income you want, set realistic billable hours (many freelancers bill 20–30 hours a week, not 40), then add 20–40% to the resulting hourly rate to cover self-employment tax, insurance and unpaid admin time.
Is anything I enter stored?
No. The math runs entirely in your browser; your salary never leaves your device.
