About this tool

Fast, private currency conversion with trustworthy rates

This currency converter turns any amount from one currency into another using the daily reference exchange rates published by the European Central Bank (via the open Frankfurter data set). Type an amount, pick your two currencies, and the result — plus the exact rate and its inverse — updates instantly. A swap button flips the pair, and popular conversions like USD→EUR or USD→INR are one tap away.

Rates are cached in your browser after the first load, so the tool keeps working even with no connection, and it never asks for an account or sends your amounts anywhere. Remember that ECB reference rates are mid-market figures: your bank or card provider adds a spread, so treat the number here as the honest baseline to measure their fees against — not the exact amount that will land in your account.

Frequently asked questions

Where do the exchange rates come from?
From the European Central Bank's daily reference rates, delivered through the free, open Frankfurter API. The ECB publishes them each working day around 16:00 CET, so weekend and holiday rates reflect the last publishing day.
Are these the rates I'll actually get from my bank?
No — they're mid-market (interbank) reference rates. Banks, card networks and money-transfer services add a margin of roughly 0.5%–3% on top. Use this figure as the fair baseline to compare providers against and to spot excessive fees.
Does the converter work offline?
Yes. After the first successful load, the latest rates are cached in your browser, so conversions keep working without a connection. If it has never loaded live rates, it falls back to a built-in snapshot and labels it as approximate.
How many currencies are supported?
31 — the major world currencies the ECB publishes, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, INR, CAD, AUD, CNY and more. Cross-rates between any two are computed via the US dollar.
Is my data private?
Completely. The amounts and currencies you choose stay in your browser; only an anonymous request for the public daily rate table is made. No account, no tracking of your conversions.
