Meme Generator: caption any image in seconds

A meme is just an image with a punchy caption, and this generator makes that as fast as possible: add a picture by uploading, dragging it in, or simply pasting from your clipboard, then type your top and bottom lines and watch the preview update as you type. It renders the classic look memes are known for — bold Impact-style lettering with a heavy outline so words stay readable over any background — and also supports the modern white caption-box style.

Everything is drawn on an HTML canvas in your browser, so your image never leaves your device and the export carries no watermark. Choose a font, tune the size, spacing and margins, set your own text and outline colours, then download a PNG or JPG, or copy the finished meme straight to your clipboard.

Frequently asked questions

Why is the preview not changing?
It should update instantly on every edit. If you re-selected the exact same file and nothing happened previously, that is fixed — the picker now resets after each choice, and you can also drag or paste an image instead.
What is the difference between the layouts?
Classic draws the text over the image in the traditional white-with-black-outline style. Top box and Both box add white caption bands above (and below) the picture, which is the modern style used widely on social feeds.
Does the meme have a watermark?
No. The exported PNG or JPG contains only your image and text — no watermark, logo, or branding.
Is my image uploaded?
No. The picture is drawn on a canvas in your browser and the meme is generated locally, so nothing is sent to a server.
